About us

Rest Areas Oceania brings together publicly available information about highway rest areas, truck bays, service centres and roadhouses in Australia and New Zealand, so drivers can find the closest stop or plan the next break along their route. Listings are organised by state, region and highway, and show the facilities of each stop, including what it does not have, with a Navigate button that opens directions in your map app.

Our data comes from OpenStreetMap, the free map of the world built by volunteers, and from open data published by state road authorities and New Zealand’s Department of Conservation. It is refreshed every week. See Data sources & licences for details.

We are not a government, road authority or operator website. Information may change between updates, so always check signs and closures on site. If you find something incorrect or out of date, please let us know.
